Elders, Leaders & Staff

Elders

Rick and Barbara Ford

  • In the mid-70s Rick and Barbara encountered the Holy Spirit which ignited their passion for Jesus. The Lord lead them to YWAM discipleship and evangelism schools which included team leadership, and foreign mission trips with our son and daughter. Later they were led into full-time church ministry in Paso Robles, later moving to Fort Lauderdale with a group to plant a Vineyard Church; they stayed nearly 8 years. Rick and Barbara started attending Five Cities Vineyard in 2007 until present. They have been a part of many FCVC ministries (greeters, connect group hosts, food pantry, pier evangelism) and are currently serving as elders.

Chris and Eleze Armstrong

  • Chris and Eleze moved to the Central Coast in 2010 where they quickly connected and put down roots at Five Cities Vineyard. They have attended and served in various capacities including Childrens’ Church, the FIT ministry, and home group leaders. Currently they serve as elders, which they deem both a responsibility and privilege.

Three of their five adult children are married, living locally, out of State, and overseas. The Armstrongs are passionate about faith, family, friendship and fellowship. When they are able to enjoy downtime from their leadership positions in law enforcement (Chris) and healthcare (Eleze), they love to travel.

Micah and Julie Van Bogelen

  • Micah and Julie have lived on the central coast for more than 20 years. They have three grown children, three grandchildren (and counting). They serve as elders in the church, lead a young adult home group, and are active in their community. When their children were in high school, Micah and Julie were youth pastors at the Five Cities Vineyard for several years, and have spent a season teaching most other age groups since they started attending the church in 2003. They enjoy the live worship at the Vineyard, and the welcoming, "come as you are" atmosphere we have here. When they are not at church, you can find them in a local coffee shop, sharing a meal with friends, huddled up around a bonfire, or spoiling their grandkids.

Finance Board

Dennis and Janice Marshall

  • Dennis and Janice have been serving as Connect Group pastors at FCVC for 9 years. They enjoy the intimate home fellowship and the joy of growing in relationship with our church family. The connect group they belong to has allowed them to get to know our church family and have some fun and memorable times together. Their desire is for everyone that calls The FCVC their home to get involved in a connect group and a church ministry where they can serve and become a thriving part of this amazing church body.

Dennis and Janice say "The best way to get to know others in the body of Christ is to get involved because going to church once a week is not enough to grow in our relationships with one another. We need each other and we need to be intentional about getting to know one another, so we would like to encourage you, if you’ve not gotten connected, to do so. There's a group on most nights of the week and we would love to have you join ours or drop in to say hi and check us out. You are always welcome to bring a friend to the group because sometimes it might be easier to invite a friend to the “connect group” and enjoy good music, food and fellowship in a home setting in order to ease the way for a “come to church” invite!"

Marjie Miller

  • Marjie Miller was raised in South Dakota and has lived on the central coast for 43 years. More than 30 years she lived in Cambria and was part of the leadership at Cambria Vineyard Church. After the loss of her husband, Bill, she moved to Pismo Beach to be closer to two of her three children and 4 of her 6 grandchildren.

She states “she found home again” at the Five Cities Vineyard. Her leadership roles have diminished a bit in the last 5 years but she still serves on the financial board.

Tom and Karen Franck

  • Tom and Karen have served the Lord and Five Cities Vineyard Church since 2005. They were baptized and married by Jose and Debbie Rivera. They served as connect group leaders for 10 years hosting a fellowship group in their home.

Tom’s contracting skills are displayed at the church in the memorial courtyard dedicated to Debbie Rivera. He was instrumental in the completion of the children’s playground and landscape. Karen is passionate about plants and flowers and can be seen around the church watering and pruning.

They appreciate the friendly atmosphere, spirit-led worship, anointed sermons and family fellowship at Five Cities Vineyard Church.

  • Didi is a retired office manager, she became a Vineyard member in 2005 and has served in various ways since then. She is currently serving on the benevolent committee.

Worship

Mark Nelson - Worship Coordinator

  • One of Mark's favorite quotes: “One minute in the presence of Jesus can undo years of the devil’s damage”. Worship music can put us in the presence of God. Mark believes music is the most powerful of the art forms and the purpose of a church worship team is to provide a vehicle that the congregation can “hop on and ride into the presence of God”

For the past four years, Mark's primary responsibility at Five Cities Vineyard is “worship”, coordinating all of the components of that portion of our Sunday morning service we call “worship”. This includes having a worship leader, a worship team, sound tech, visual overhead and streaming person in place each Sunday morning. He has been with the Five Cities Vineyard much longer... since the beginning.

The Five Cities Vineyard was planted in 1991 by the then pastor of the San Luis Vineyard, Bob Craine. Mark was fortunate enough to be on the ground floor team of that church plant... a wonderful experience for him. From the very beginning of the Vineyard movement, one of their primary values has been intimate worship and the tangible presence of God... and it still is.

If you have a passion and/or interest in being part of (any aspect) of the worship team, please fill out our contact form.

Lindsay was raised here on the central coast, she also grew up in the church and participated in many youth ministries throughout her adolescence. They have been raising their own four children in the church and understand some of the difficulties and challenges the world brings to this generation. They enjoy making connections with the youth and have a passion for sharing the love of Jesus. Their vision is to feed them with truths about their identity, who they are and who we are created to be. They also want to equip them as children of God to walk in the light and provide encouragement along the way.

Stewart and Ardith Skow - Ardith leads the Women’s Ministry

  • My name is Ardith Skow and I lead a Women’s group here at FCV. I was born in SLO and have lived in the South County for most of my adult life. I am married to Stuart and have 2 adult children, a son-in-law and 2 grandchildren.

I have served in many ministries in our church over the years, though my hearts’ passion is for the women in our church and community. I have led a women’s group over those many years and I love to watch the word of God come alive in the hearts of women.

It is my mission in our group to meet Jesus Christ and to learn to follow Him in every aspect of our daily walk and to create a supportive community of women who wish to move beyond a belief in the Lord to a strong commitment to follow Him.

I am both blessed and excited for the opportunity to be a part of this church family and look forward to what the Lord is going to do in our lives as we open our hearts more to Him. He is Faithful and never fails, so come join us.

Steve and Erin Stuart - Prayer Connect Group Leaders

  • Steve and Erin met at the San Luis Vineyard and married back in the ’90’s, in the middle of the Renewal. They continued to grow up together there, but after they bought a house in Pismo and had their first couple children, God led them to fellowship closer to home.

They’ve been at the Five Cities’ Vineyard ever since, about as long as Jose has! They have two “adult children” living at home and attending college, and one in junior high. Their heart is to pursue God, to experience Him, to worship Him, to know Him,
to do all the work of His kingdom, and to walk alongside others who are seeking the same. They have taught Sunday School for years, from nursery up to high school. Erin plays the piano for worship any time she gets a chance.
